    Re: Medal count...

if we make it to the gold medal game, its a success no matter what happens.

I see them being as motivated as ever for the rest of the tourney, they will be almost impossible to beat after switching Brodeur for Luongo.

I dont see how can you say taht Ovecheckin is clearly better than Crosby, its not possible.
Esp. not betting outlets, I didn't even look at that link.

Ovechkin is for sure, maybe a few year ago it'd be different, not now. Ovechkin is definitely the better player now.

    Re: Medal count...

Crosby has a Stanley Cup, Ovechkin does not.

Crosby plays with a better team, but i dont see how anyone can say that one is definetly better than the other.

Canada beat Russia today, Crosby over Ovechkin

it doesnt matter if you dont check them, gamblers are not out to lose money, they are trying to make it, so if a team is the favorite, they will give them the best odds as not to lose tons of money.

    Re: Medal count...

After this year, I think Ovechkin will have tied him for that one. Like you said Crosby did play for the better team, but even without looking at that, Ovechkin is statistically better.

SK is pretty physical in their races and they are watched a little more closely because of it I would imagine.

They pushed Ohno when he was trying to make a move into 1st I believe, he dropped to 5th, then two of them crash and he ended up with a Bronze in one race. They aren't exactly fair, but I haven't seen this one, so I don't know.

    Re: Medal count...

    A couple of hockey thoughts:
    1. I don't share the sentiment of alot of folks who wanted Russia to beat Canada. The Russians are dirty, and I really dislike them as a people. If you put me in a room with a Japanese,German, and Russian, and tell me that one has to die,it would be the Russian, and if you asked me "Who would you least want to see win the gold?",it would be the Russians .They are boors who try to bully and intimidate, and I LMAO watching Boyle go after Semin after the dirty hit. I liked the "euro-trash" comment by Milbury. Clearly the North Americans have flexed their muscles here in this tourney.
    2. The USA is going to have to guard against overconfidence Friday. Is it just me guys,or does the Finland-CZECH game look like it is in slo-mo? We should be pulling for the aging, slow Finnish team, because the Czechs are always unpredictible, and when they bring their A-game,they are a tough out.

Just as I called it (to this point anyway) Slovakia is upsetting #2 Sweden 2-0. I wasn't impressed with Sweden at all after watching them struggle in their opener with hapless Germany. I was actually surprised that they shutout Finland 3-0 (which gives me even more hope for the USA vs Finland)

The defending Olympic Champion is gone,as the Slovaks advance by upsetting Sweden 4-3. Semis are USA-Finland and Slovakia-Canada. I like the chances of a USA-Canada final.

I couldn't stay up to watch it as I worked last night and opened this morning. When I got home last night it was 2-0. Went to take out my contacts and etc before going to bed and it was 2-2 2 minutes later. Crazy.
